Every player is required to wear a cap-style soft-shell helmet, which must be kept properly and fully fastened during play. Additionally, a mouthpiece is mandatory, and players must wear an acceptable jersey style, such as a T-shirt, compression shirt, or basketball-type sleeveless shirt. No player is permitted on the field without a shirt or a fully secured soft-shell helmet.
All offensive plays must be forward passes; running plays, flea flickers, double passes, and laterals are strictly prohibited. Possession always starts at the 45-yard line at the right hash mark, and teams must gain 15 yards within 3 downs to pick up a first down. However, once the offense advances the ball inside the 15-yard line, they are granted 4 downs to score a touchdown.
The quarterback has a strict 4.0-second pass clock to release the football. For the younger divisions (8U through 10U), this limit is extended to 5.0 seconds. If a snap is muffed, the ball is not ruled dead, but the quarterback’s pass clock will continue to count down without pausing. If the ball is released late, the play is returned to the original line of scrimmage with a loss of down
Regular season games do not feature a tiebreaker or overtime period. Overtime is strictly reserved for playoff games. During the playoffs, a coin flip determines the first possession, and teams will alternate 4-down series from the 15-yard line until a winner is decided. If a second overtime is needed, teams must shift to making 2-point conversion attempts from the 10-yard line.
Parents must complete all player profiles, sign safety waivers, and submit age verification documents through our online portal before team placements begin. Youth sports registration questions typically center on registration windows.
Regular registration opens eight weeks prior to the first scheduled kickoff, while late registration incurs a processing fee and places the athlete on a conditional waiting list.
To secure a roster spot, parents must provide the following documentation during the online sign-up phase:
Rosters feature strict player caps to preserve equitable playing time and maintain safety standards. If a specific division fills completely before the closing date, the registration software closes that division automatically and opens a moderated waitlist.
Athletes may request to play up exactly one age division if their skill level warrants advanced competition. Roster space must permit the movement, and the League Director must issue formal approval after evaluating the player during pre-season workouts.
Players cannot play down into a younger age bracket under any circumstances to preserve tournament integrity.
Coaches and parents can access the complete regulatory rulebook digitally through our central document repository at any time. Standard youth football league rules enforce non-contact play, requiring defenders to remove a runner’s flag completely to establish a down rather than initiating physical contact.
Our game-day operations run on a standardized tournament clock to ensure predictable schedules for busy families:
Physical contact, including blocking, downfield screening, or flag guarding, results in immediate spot fouls. Officials penalize flag guarding by assessing a 5-yard penalty from the spot of the infraction along with an automatic loss of down.
Matches run on reduced pitch dimensions with modified goal sizes to maximize player touches and accelerate developmental footwork. This soccer league FAQ overview highlights our transition from micro-fields to full-width pitches based on participant maturity.
Divisional play alters structural elements to align directly with youth athletic capabilities:
Offside violations apply strictly to the 11U division and older. Deliberate heading infractions in any division below 12U result in an immediate whistle and an indirect free kick for the opposing team from the spot of the offense.
